It’s Settled
I can’t stand still, I’m an animal in a modern cage fit for a king.
I can’t remember, who I am and what I am supposed to be.
I can’t feel, what I am supposed to feel and act on my feelings.
I can’t hear, the sounds of my heart beat, the breathing of my being.
I can’t taste, my tongue or the frame upon which it is mounted.
I will stand upright, in a modern cage fit for a worker bee.
I will remember, who I thought I was and who I am to be.
I will feel, all feelings that I choose to feel and act upon them.
I will hear, the sounds of my being fluctuating in my skeletal frame.
I will taste, my tongue and the lovers in which I leave my soul.
I am a reverent being from a planet worth fighting for,

Depths
swimming in the depths of my own skin, inside your skull we will begin.
we are all different people underneath our fleshy tapestry, some fields
of flowers, others thousands of insects falling over each others silky backs
never able to realize where they are going or why, I have learned to rely
on the man in the sky, and sometimes to ask why, but mainly just do, do,
go, go , go, stop making your sorrow a pity show so that everyone must
know how you reap is not what you expected to sow, so, so ,so what?
you’ve had a couple close calls, getting kicked in the balls, puking behind
strip malls, crying in bathroom stalls, do you think you are the first human
creature to truly feel alone? don’t pick your bones, pick your heart.
we swim in the depths of our skin sometimes breaking the surface
revealing our dreams, how do you do? I am me and I are you, should
we kiss or should I sue? I feel the same way too, pause , rewind ,
be behind human kind, in love with body, lusting for the mind,
get in the grind, crash cars, collect lives, burn off that mustache disguise,
I am a reverent creature of a planet worth fighting for.
